APRIL S | Guest Instructor: Dance

April has been teaching dance for over 15 years.  She studied business and dance at Rockford University in Illinois.  She has taught for several different studios throughout Illinois, including Arthur Murray where she began her ballroom training.  April went on to dance and choreograph for several professional sports teams as well as the Chicago Bulls, as a Luvabull.  She opened her own dance studio in 2005.  There she taught over 200 dancers weekly on both the recreational level as well as the national level.  Her dance teams have gone on to win numerous awards at the national level.  April also expanded into fitness.  April won the title of Miss Fitness Illinois (2011), and Miss Fitness North America (2012), and competed in Miss Fitness USA(2012).  April Slapa recently sold her dance studio to move to Texas with her family.  This gave her the time to write her book “Why Do Dancers Only Count to 8?”  This book was written to answer the question she would hear several times a day from her students.   And yes, April CAN count past 8!
